Nature's Lessons

The house was looking a little plain and bare, so we planted a few flowers out front today. Which led to ripping out a shrub. Which led to buying a new shrub, which looked weird so we bought a few more flowers to hide it while it grows. While buying the flowers, we found a bag of ladybugs. Of course, the kids loved them and had to have them and think of how nice the roses will look if we just add ladybugs.

We got home and started getting them out of the bag.

Tyler: Oh! Look how cute! There's a dad with a baby riding on it's back!
Rebi: Umm, Tyler, I think they're mating.
Tyler: They're so cute!
Rebi: Mating, like making babies.

Much hand shaking.
Tyler: Eww! Don't have babies on my hand!

Oh you are so lucky ... to be out planting flowers ... they'd die here planted this early ... but the bulbs are starting to poke their heads out and that is wonderful.
I'm just making lists of everything that needs doing and itching to get out and start digging in the dirt ... which of course is now mus ... partially frozen mud ... but there is no snow in my yard :)
Your kids keep me laughing ... thanks Cathie

You know, I'd make comments more often, but most of the time I can't stop laughing long enough to think up anything fun to add. Sex ed, anyone? (:

No snow in town; the mountains are covered! We got a wild rain storm this morning. My crocuses are blooming, the daffodils and tulips are up and forming buds. Birds are singing. Spring has sprung!
