Rock On Tyler

Yes, another post about Ty. . .

He had a great meet at Stanford, increasing his overall scores by as much as a full point in 2 events. His vault and rings were particularly good, with a 9.45 in vault and a 9.15 on rings.

After that, he took me out to the Cheesecake Factory for dinner with our friends, Laura, Jon, and Sydney.

Now, he is getting ready to lose to Laura in the game of Life. She has won that game since she and I were kids together, and I fully expect her to kick his butt this time too!

NEED SLEEP

Not done packing yet, but the list has nearly everything crossed off. Or moved. Or ignored. Woo-hoo!

I don't want to feed them!

Pride Goeth Before the Fall

Which means I'm certain to regret my bragging, but here goes anyway!

I know I've complained copiously about Media planners in the past few weeks, but of course the up side of dealing with them is that they buy things. Occasionally. Two days ago, I received another request for advertising and I had very little inventory left to sale, so I made up a new ad spot. I cleared it with our internal operations team (and I know our members will complain, but hopefully not too much), and sent it out on the latest proposal.

And here's where the pride comes in- they REALLY like it. Whether this is the occasion they buy or not remains to be seen, but I'm feeling pretty cool just right now.

Getting lots crossed off the list

Clearly I'm working hard. . .

This little clip is pretty funny though.

So I don't lose my list

All of the things I need to do before I leave for Stanford with Tyler on Friday:
  1. 3 big (and somewhat complicated) proposals for a Media Planner. (I'll leave off the sigh) and it only took me 3+ hours!
  2. finish compiling my meal for 35 people for this week
  3. refill Evan's meds
  4. laundry
  5. accounting for GDnet
  6. buy crickets for Ty's toad- Guess Dave's getting this one.
  7. get cash from Dave's wallet or ATM (of course, Dave's wallet was closer than an ATM
  8. post jobs
  9. sign Rebi and Evan up for Yunasa
  10. book airline to SFO for GDC
  11. laundry
  12. confirm babysitting for GDC (maybe I should do that before I book the flight)
  13. make lists of things each child needs to complete academically while I am gone- school can be optional, right?
  14. order ping pong balls for GDC
  15. laundry
  16. pack for me and Ty- who needs clothes?
  17. order new pants for Evan (anyone know where I can find pants in a 12 slim, extra long?)
  18. purchase pants for Ty (do they make the knees of boys pants out of weak remnant material? Shouldn't the knees be made stronger than the rest of the pants??)
  19. buy Depends -I really don't want to pee my pants when I sneeze at 10,000 feet (I think I'll live on the edge!)
  20. clean up the 25 pounds of rice I just dumped all over the floor (I really didn't see that coming)
  21. print a schedule for Dave for the weekend- hope he figures it all out!
  22. find a meth supplier so that my nose will feel better before I fly (surprisingly easy to complete)
  23. wrap the presents for the birthday parties kids will attend while I am gone
  24. buy magazines or something for the trip
  25. download some videos onto the itouch for Ty on the plane
  26. laundry
  27. answer 15 urgent email from yesterday and the day before
  28. answer more urgent email which come in before Friday
  29. get eye drops for the puppies
  30. take photos of the puppies to post on the adoption website
  31. take photos of the kids for a gift they are making for Dave- Maybe Monday
  32. laundry- 8 loads down, 8 or 10 to go.
  33. call the people Rebi will be working for to confirm times
  34. check to see when Ortho appts are for 3 oldest kids- another one for Monday
  35. make Dr appt for Evan
  36. make sign up sheet for YW babysitting roster
  37. compile YW announcements for Sunday and email to Doreena
  38. Finish plotting, purchasing and wrapping a 40th birthday gift for Koford.
  39. Hope Koford laughs at it and doesn't break down in tears
  40. laundry- did I mention the barely making a dent?

I think that's the majority of it. I'm sure I've missed a few really important things. Wow, when I changed it from a bullet list to a numbered list, that suddenly became overwhelming!

No Warning

I woke up this morning with a cold. I didn't feel sick when I went to bed last night, and now I am sneezing my eyeballs out. I thought it might be allergies, but copious amounts of allergy medicine hasn't helped. Nor has the copious amounts of cold medicine.

Sadly, after having 5 kids, now every time I sneeze I nearly pee my pants.

Overheard

Rebi: (teasing) Evan, your girlfriend came over today. . .
Evan: (nonchalantly) Which one?
